Railway stations and airports

Railway stations and airports afford both shelter and food, making them popular habitats for feral pigeons. Pigeon nests are typically found behind departure boards, on girders immediately below canopies or rooves, on top of light fittings, or even inside false ceilings where service equipment is located.

At railway stations and airports, Bird Free™ will need to be applied to nesting sites, to sheltered spots where pigeons habitually roost, and to loafing areas close to food sources. Berlin, Glasgow, Hamburg and Mumbai are some of the airports where Bird Free™ has been successfully installed.

Bird Free™ remains effective for more than 10 years

In April 2025, the facilities manager at London’s King’s Cross station confirmed that Bird Free™ remains effective 10 years after installation.
